NR 12 Brazilian Standard Download

Brazil issues revised Standards for safety and health of the workplaces and machinery effective 30th July 2019. The Brazilian Minister of Labour has recently (30 July 2019) published two Ordinances (“Portaria”): Portaria n. 916, which modifies and updates the NR 12 Standard (safety of workplace and machinery) and Portaria n. 915, which amends the following Standards: NR 01 (general provisions), some provisions of Standad NR 10 (safety of electrical installations), NR 13 (boilers and pressure vessels), NR 32, NR 33, NR 34 and of NR 35.

Enforcement of the updated NR 12 Standard shall commence from the 30th July 2019.
In the revised NR 12 standard there are important changes relating to technical safety requirements and the centrality of the CREA Brazilian engineer which is responsible to verify the compliance of the machinery.
